Project Oasis North Downs (POND) is a voluntary organisation dedicated to running an historic barn as an eco-friendly hostel for walkers, cyclists and horseriders on the North Downs Way and in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Volunteers have done much of the work in restoring the barn and other people have contributed in many other ways, for which we are very grateful. Why not come and join us in promoting a greener and more sustainable lifestyle?
There are a number of roles that all need additional volunteers -
- Volunteer wardens - we give training and support to all our wardens. Mostly the commitment is to spend 1 or 2 nights at a time in the barn in the lovely village of Puttenham. We are planning to increase the numbers of wardens in the team so we can increase the number of nights that we open.
- Voluntary labour - ongoing work is needed to maintain the barn and its eco-friendly equipment.
- Administrative skills - more help is needed in managing and running the project. We would very much welcome volunteers with hospitality, industry, environmental, financial or administrative skills.

Project Oasis North Downs is the name of the charity responsible for Puttenham Camping Barn, and is also a company limited by guarantee (registered address: The Red House, Rake Manor Estate, Station Lane, Milford, Surrey, GU8 5AD).
