A selection of entries from our visitors book, giving the views of some of the people who have stayed at our barn during 2007 and 2006...
September 1st 2007: Wonderful welcome! A fantastic night`s escape from London. We hope to return. Thank you! – Claire, Mitcham.
June 16th 2007: A great place to stay - even a hot shower after a long, wet and muddy cycle across the down. Thanks. – Hazelwood School Outdoor Activities Club.
Good Friday 2007: First night of our walk along the North Downs Way. Janet and team were incredibly hospitable. We were welcomed with coffee and hot cross buns! The barn facilities are better than we had imagined and it`s great to see that real efforts have been made to minimise the environmental impacts of the building. All in all a great place to stay. Hope there is more like this along the route. Keep up the good work. – Steve and Sara (Tonbridge, Kent).
September 16th 2006: What a great way to spend my Birthday - thank you for a wonderful stay. We had a good sleep, feel refreshed and ready for our walk this morning. The tea room we stopped at on route was lovely as is the countryside. Wishing you well. – Cheryl and the group.
April 29th/30th 2006: Great Barn, perfect for a bunch of tired and footsore walkers. Excellent facilities and a very friendly and accommodating warden. We will recommend it to friends and family. – Steve and friends.
Good Friday 2006: Wonderful welcome and a delight to find somewhere to stay at short notice. I walked from Alton today (St Swithun`s Way) - not as well waymarked as the North Downs Way but an excellent extension which takes the path to Winchester. Am walking back home to Canterbury! – Bill.

...and official words of praise... In late 2007 the barn was inspected by a representative of `Visit Britain`, who wrote:
“Puttenham Camping Barn provides very well presented and equipped basic accommodation in an excellent location. The facilities provided are well in excess of what would normally be expected in this style of accommodation, and the property has the additional benefit of a resident warden. All areas were very well presented, clean and tidy with a strong environmental influence.”
